Take Me Out to the Graveyard
Saturday October 29th at 7.30pm at Shuswap Theatre
Tickets are $12 and doors open at 6.30pm.
All ages welcome!
Experience the magic of Old Time Radio. Take Me Out to the Graveyard will be performed as it was for radio in 1947, with actors stepping up to the mic to read their lines.
Sit in the quiet darkness of the theatre and listen as the actors bring the story to life. Watch as sound effects (foley) are magically created right before your eyes. Feel the hair rise on the back of your neck as the radio experience transports you to another world… you may never feel the same way about a taxi ride again.
American writer Wyllis Cooper was well known for writing late night dramatic radio series including Lights Out (1934-47) and Quiet, Please,(1947-49). Cooper also wrote the screenplay for Son of Frankenstein (1939) and contributed to some of the Mr.Moto films.
This event is funded by a grant from the Community Radio Fund of Canada. Voice of the Shuswap will be recording the play for airing at a later date.
