Community radio is not a commercial radio station owned by some large corporation and dependent on advertising. It is owned by a local non-profit (Voice of the Shuswap Broadcast Society) and operated by volunteers to provide local programming, music, information, news and emergency services to the community.
Using volunteers, VSBS aims to provide non-commercial, innovative, entertaining, and diverse programming representing the varied perspectives of our community (the Shuswap area). Our studio facilities offer training opportunities for on and off-air radio production, as well as increasing the media options for people in our listening area.
Our members are how community radio continues to broadcast and flourish. We are always looking for new members. Please complete and submit the following Membership Application and either drop in to our studio upstairs at the First United Church to make payment or you may also pay online using the button at the page bottom left.
Membership fees are due annually on January 1 at the listed rate, or a lifetime membership is also available.
