Community radio is not a commercial radio station owned by some large corporation and dependent on advertising. It is owned by a local non-profit society and operated by volunteers to provide local programming, music, information, news and emergency services to the community.
Using volunteers, VSBS aims to provide non-commercial, innovative, entertaining, and diverse programming representing the varied perspectives of our community (the Shuswap area). Our studio facilities offer training opportunities for on and off-air radio production, as well as increasing the media options for people in our listening area.
You must be a Voice of the Shuswap Broadcast Society (VSBS) member in good standing in order to volunteer at CKVS-FM the Voice. Our members are how community radio continues to broadcast and flourish. We are always looking for new members. Please complete the following Membership Application and either mail it in or drop it off at our studio upstairs at the First United Church. You may also enroll online using the buttons at the page bottom:
Membership fees are due annually on January 1 at the listed rate, or a lifetime membership is available with a 10-year pre-payment.

I enjoy the variety of music you play. It is refreshingly different than the standard stations.
Happy to be a member and supporter of your community efforts.
